On August 20, 2023 I had a major brain stem stroke. I spent 16 days in the hospital and rehabilitation. It was my little granddaughter who said," go to the hospital Poppop!"
I walk because I know that with every step, I am saving lives. My life may have been saved because of previous steps taken in previous events . Each step that I take brings me closer to full recovery.
I am a Special needs teacher at Red Oak Elementary School in Nash County. I hope that my school team will join me and help me make it to the surviors lane. I made the walk last year with a group of co- workers who supported me from my school. Please enjoy these pictures from last years ' event.
