The Association of Graduate Nursing Students at East Carolina University is excited to support heart health in our community! As nurses, we know how powerful CPR can be in saving lives, and we want to help more people feel confident and ready to step in during an emergency. But heart health isn’t just about emergencies—it’s also about the small choices we make every day. That’s why we’re passionate about encouraging healthy habits and breaking down barriers so that everyone in our community has the chance to live well.  

Cardiac arrests happen at work, in homes, on athletic fields and in neighborhoods everywhere, and the readiness of our community can be the difference between life and death. ​9 out of 10 people who suffer cardiac arrest outside the hospital die. In most of those cases, bystander CPR was not performed. But we can change this. ​

 

It's time to unite, take action, and save lives. Every walker who joins, every dollar donated, means more people trained in lifesaving CPR, more research and more lifesaving moments for everyone. ​
