We Walk to Save Lives!

I Walk to Save Lives.

This year marks my second year "coaching" and leading my own team for the American Heart Association Heart Walk, and I am more passionate than ever to be part of this important cause.

When I was just 4 years old, I underwent open-heart surgery to repair a broken road in my heart. It was a life-changing experience, and it's something I carry with me every day.

As many of you know, Finley has a very special heart. At just 2 days old, he was diagnosed with a Small Restrictive Supracristal Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) and in August 2021, Finley underwent open-heart surgery to repair his VSD, which was affecting his Aortic Valve. Since then, Finley has shown incredible resilience and bravery as he continues to recover and thrive. Maintaining his newly repaired heart is something we take very seriously, and I’m so proud of how far he’s come.

Heart disease is a cause that's very personal to me. In December 2020, our family suffered the loss of Finley’s Aunt Jaime, who passed away after a battle with heart failure. Her memory and her strength are a constant reminder of why I walk, why I raise funds, and why I fight to make sure no one else has to face this kind of loss.

I’m so excited to have my amazing team walking beside me this year, as we work to save lives and support the mission of the American Heart Association. Every step we take brings us closer to a world free from heart disease and stroke.
