Why the Heart Walk Matters to Me ?
Heart health has always been important to me, but it became deeply personal when my mother needed open heart surgery. Watching her go through that experience reminded me how vital heart health is ? not just for one person, but for entire families.
As a mother myself, I want to pave a path for my daughter to live a long, heart-healthy life. Supporting the American Heart Association is one way I can help make that future possible ? by raising awareness, funding research, and advocating for women?s heart health, which too often goes underrecognized and undertreated.
Heart disease remains the leading cause of death for women, yet many of us don?t know the signs or the risk factors until it?s too late. The Heart Walk gives us a chance to change that ? to take action, to honor the women we love, and to build a healthier future for the next generation.
That?s why I?m walking ? for my mother, for my daughter, and for every woman who deserves a stronger, healthier heart.
