I was born with three heart defects and congenital heart disease. At three months old I had to have open heart surgery as I had a double outlet right ventricle, and a large VSD, and a persistent left superior vena cava.
My uncle Glenn passed away in 2021 from a stroke brought on by hypertension, which runs in the family.
This year, I lost my amazing dad to a heart attack in February. He came with me to the Heart walk in 2024 and we had a blast together. This year instead of walking with him, I will be walking for him.
I walk because I am incredibly greatful to be alive. I also walk to honor those who were not as lucky, like my beloved uncle and dad.
