Five years ago, my world nearly shattered. My husband suffered a massive heart attack. His main artery was 100% blocked. Without the life-saving expertise of the incredible doctors and nurses at UNC Health Nash, he wouldn't be here today.
Thanks to his cardiologist, daily medication, and some major lifestyle changes, he's still with us, living proof that heart disease is something we can fight.
But here's the reality - heart disease remains the leading cause of death. And so many people don't get a second chance.
That's why I'm beyond honored to Co-Chair the 2025 Twin Counties Heart Walk on Saturday, September 27th at North Carolina Wesleyan University on the Southern Bank Green. This event isn't just a walk, it's a movement. A chance to fight back, to make healthier choices, and to raise critical funds for research, education and life saving initiatives.
