In April 2021, I survived a massive "widow-maker" heart attack caused by a Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection only 8 days after having my son, Liam. I was fortunate to have the amazing care of doctors (Dr. Crespo and Dr. Quiñones!) who diagnosed and treated me quickly enough to save my life. The picture on my profile is from the day I got back from the hospital and held my son again for the first time. One of the best and most emotional moments of my life.

Since then, I've wanted to make a commitment to fighting for healthier hearts and lives for everyone and bringing awareness to the fact that even those of us who are healthy one day, could be faced with a heart issue another. We have to come together to educate, fight for research and resources especially for women and people of color, and to advocate for better care and systems of support.
This year I'm also walking for a very special reason. My son, Liam, who is now 2 years old was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect and will be having heart surgery in December. I want Liam, and every child, to have the best care possible and have everything they need to grow up healthy and to thrive.
Join me for the Heart Walk on Saturday, December 2nd to bring awareness, raise funds, and do something healthy for ourselves and those we love!
