One in a hundred!

One in a hundred children are born with congenital heart disease!

And the members of the incredible team at the Vanderbilt Pediatric Heart Institute have dedicated their careers to taking care of these strong and courageous children!  This care often requires advances in technology that has been developed with the support of the American Heart Association. These advances include the development of the heart lung machine, artificial heart valves, pacemakers, and devices to close holes in the heart, just to name a few.  The American Heart Association Heart Walk is a chance to come together to celebrate the brave children that we care for, their families, and the spectacular team we have at the Vanderbilt PHI .  It is also an opportunity to raise awareness of congenital heart disease, and to raise money to support research that  will ensure that the care we provide tomorrow will be even better than today.
