My dad was diagnosed with severe coronary artery disease after visiting Life Imaging for a free heart scan. He came to the cardiac catheterization lab where I work and the diagnosis was confirmed and he needed immediate open heart surgery. During the quadruple bypass surgery the Surgeon found a aortic aneurysm that also needed repair. In addition to bypass and aneurysm repair, my dad also received a modified cox maze procedure to help with his AFIB. The American Heart Association has researchers that have been developing most of the advances in heart disease since the early 1900s. The research and advances would never take place without the help of the community. Heart disease is the number one cause of death and the population is growing younger. The fight is real, my team-mates and I work daily with interventional cardiologists to preserve and save the lives of others. These people are our family, our friends, and even our co-workers. Please help us in this fight and remember that every dollar counts.
