9 out of 10 people who suffer cardiac arrest outside the hospital die. In most of those cases, bystander CPR was not performed. But we can change this.

 

Cardiac arrests happen at work, in homes, on athletic fields and in neighborhoods everywhere, and the readiness of our community can be the difference between life and death.

I walk because I know that my life would not be the same without Donnie in it. We were lucky because his heart attack was recognized before he went into cardiac arrest! Doctors were able to put in three stents to restore blood flow and he made a full recovery. Now I get to share my life with him, our four kids, two sons-in-law, and our grandchildren!
