2026 Birmingham Heart Walk
Blue baby 95
Our team, Blue Baby 95, is incredibly special to me and represents a journey that started long before I could even remember it.
When I was 9 months old, I had open heart surgery at UAB Hospital to repair Tetralogy of Fallot, a congenital heart defect. My surgeon was Dr. Pacifico, and thanks to his care and the incredible medical team, my life was forever changed. Interestingly, I never turned blue like many babies with this condition-hence the name of our team, Blue Baby 95.
Fast forward to 2024, I underwent another major milestone in my heart journey: a valve replacement surgery with Dr. Law. Because of the advancements in heart research, medicine, and the dedication of doctors and scientists, I'm able to live a full, active life-and for that I am endlessly grateful.
This year's team shirt says "Go with the Fallot," a fun play on Tetralogy of Fallot and the phrase go with the flow. It's a reminder to keep moving forward, stay hopeful, and celebrate how far heart care has come.
This cause is incredibly near and dear to my heart-literally and figuratively. I'm so thankful for my friends and family who continue to support me by joining the team, showing up, walking, and donating to such an important cause. Together, we're helping fund lifesaving research and supporting those who are on their own heart journeys.
Thank you for being part of Team Blue Baby 95 and for helping us make a difference.
