We walk – well skip, run, dance – because of our #HeartWarrior Everett, who is now 8 years old!

At 11 days old, our critically ill son was airlifted to New Orleans to repair a congenital heart defect that had been detected only hours earlier. He fought hard to become another survivor, thanks to so many healing hands and praying hearts.

We now have at least four other survivors among our loved ones, including little cousins, Everett's Uncle Phil, sweet neighbors and an honorary uncle whom he calls Choo Choo. And last year Everett was so happy to learn and celebrate three BRCVPA classmates who also are survivors. We remember those we've lost too.
