It has been just over two years since I lost my beautiful boy to an undiagnosed heart defect, dilated cardiomyopathy. No symptoms, no signs. Callum went into cardiac arrest and collapsed while walking his dogs on December 31, 2023.  I will never know how long he lay on the grass alone behind Saint Brendan's church before that kind soul followed the dogs back to my boy. I still cannot believe it's real. I live in a state of denial, that's how I function on a daily basis. 
In the hope that no other family will have to experience what ours has, I am once again participating in the South Carolina Low Country Heartwalk in memory of Callum. Last year, the support my team and I received was overwhelming, and I appreciated each and every donation. That's why I am once again asking for your continued support as I honor the memory of my son, Callum Tomas DiCenso.
