My son was born with a heart condition that changed our lives from the very first moment we met him. At just 9 days old, he had to undergo open-heart surgery, a tiny warrior facing something no baby should ever have to understand. Those early days were filled with fear, hope, uncertainty, and a strength none of us knew we had until we needed it.
There were sleepless nights in the hospital, watching monitors and waiting for the next update. But through it all, my son showed a courage that inspired everyone around him. His tiny heart fought hard, and slowly, day by day, he began to heal.
Today, he is 9 years old, healthy, joyful, and thriving. He plays basketball with boundless energy, laughter that fills the room, and a spirit that refuses to quit. Every dribble, every sprint down the court, every joyful smile reminds me of how far he’s come.
He is more than my child, he is my Heart Warrior.
His journey has taught us about resilience, gratitude, the power of love, and the importance of supporting others facing similar battles. Because of him, we believe in hope, in miracles, and in the work of the American Heart Association.
