As some of you may know, and some may not, I am a heart warrior.
In March 2018, I was diagnosed with congestive heart failure after nearly losing my life and spending several days in the ICU-all while having a two-week-old baby at home. That experience forever changed me and ignited my passion for heart health awareness.
In addition to walking as a survivor, I walk in honor of my parents. In 2022, I lost my dad after a failed quadruple bypass surgery-the greatest devastation of my life. In 2023, my mom was diagnosed with congestive heart failure after a lengthy hospitalization. Today, we are blessed to still have her under my care.
Congestive heart failure affects over 6 million Americans and is one of the leading causes of hospitalization in adults-yet with early detection, education, and proper care, lives can be saved.
This year, we are proudly participating in the Lowcountry Heart Walk once again to raise awareness and support life-saving research and education.
Please consider joining us for the walk or making a donation-every step and every dollar truly makes a difference.
Thank you for supporting heart health.
