My family is my why!!
In 2016, I had sudden cardiac arrest at my house while 8 weeks pregnant with my 3rd baby. My husband saved my life with CPR. Paramedics and EMTs arrived at my house and continued the CPR process and shocked me 4 times using an AED. I was transferred to the hospital where I spent about a week in the ICU before recovering enough to return home. The next few months were filled with many unknowns and ups & downs, but I was able to return to work and then miraculously delivered a healthy baby boy that next summer. He is perfect in every way. I eventually required two open heart surgeries to repair my heart valves.
The American Heart Association is important to me, not only because of the impact it has had in my own life, but also because it spreads awareness and help to others. I would not be here without CPR and an AED, and neither would my son.
