In November, our world changed in an instant. My mom suffered a stroke. It is something you always hear about but never think will hit this close to home.
There is something surreal about seeing someone so strong suddenly fighting for basic things we all take for granted. The hospital rooms. The uncertainty. The prayers whispered under your breath. It is a kind of strength you do not realize you have until you are forced to find it.
Watching my mom navigate recovery has been both heartbreaking and inspiring. Stroke recovery is not just physical. It is emotional, mental, and deeply personal. It is a reminder that this can happen to anyone, at any time.
That is why I am walking in the Heart Walk this year.
I am raising money to support research, prevention, and treatment so families like mine have more answers, more resources, and more hope. Every dollar goes toward helping those impacted by stroke and heart disease and toward the research that can save lives.
If you feel led to support, donate, or even just share this post, it truly means more than you know. If you have ever had a loved one affected by heart disease or stroke, I am walking for you too.
Life can change in a second. But so can outcomes with awareness, research, and community.
Thank you for supporting my mom. Thank you for supporting this cause.
