At 17 years old, I sat in a cardiologist’s office and heard words that would change my life forever.
I was born with a bicuspid aortic valve and coronary artery ectasia, conditions I didn’t even know I had until they began affecting me physically and emotionally. Since then, I’ve navigated countless appointments, testing, uncertainty, and the quiet weight of living with heart disease at a young age.
Heart disease doesn’t always look the way people expect it to.
Sometimes it looks like a college student.
Sometimes it looks like someone smiling on stage.
Sometimes it looks like me.
The American Heart Association funds the research, education, and advocacy that people like me depend on. They fight for earlier detection, better treatments, and more awareness, especially for those whose symptoms are often overlooked.
This walk is deeply personal to me. It’s part of my mission to turn my diagnosis into impact. As I continue my journey toward Miss Alabama, my platform is based on heart health advocacy, and this is one way we can create real change together.
If you feel led, I would be so grateful for your support. Every donation helps fund research, save lives, and remind people like me that we are not fighting alone.
From my heart to yours, thank you for being part of this story.
