I walk because I am thankful for the advances in medicine made possible through fundraisers such as this one. Because of those advances, my family was blessed to enjoy seven additional years with my mother.

Before her passing in 2024, my mother underwent a transcatheter aortic valve replacement, also known as TAVR. She was 93 years young when she passed, and during those seven years, she was able to share many wonderful moments with her children and great-grandchildren.
