It's that time of year! I’m gearing up for my 6th Greater Atlanta Heart Walk in support of the American Heart Association. Thanks to your incredible generosity over the past five years, my team The Pacemakers have now raised more than $28,000 to support lifesaving heart and stroke research. This year, we're setting our goal to raise another $10,000.
This year's walk is especially meaningful to me because I'm dedicating my campaign to my dad, Julio Delgado.
In November 2025, my dad suffered a mini stroke, followed by another on New Year's Day 2026. After further testing, doctors discovered a blockage in one of his arteries. He spent a week in the ICU before undergoing a procedure to place a stent that restored blood flow and ultimately saved his life. We recently found out he has additional blockage and will be undergoing another procedure in the next few weeks to place more stents.
Watching someone you love go through something like that is incredibly difficult. It also made me appreciate the lifesaving advances in heart and stroke care that many of us now benefit from. Technologies like the stent that saved my dad's life exist because of decades of research and innovation supported by organizations like the American Heart Association. My family is beyond grateful that this research gave my dad a second chance.
Every donation, no matter the size, helps fund research, education, and medical breakthroughs that give more families the chance to have more time with the people they love and create more stories like my dad's.
