It has been 20 years since Team Urowsky first started our fundraising campaign to support the American Heart Association.  It is a labor of love that has taken on many different shapes over the years...in the early years, it was big!  We had a team of 100+ walkers year after year and the monies raised were significiant.  As the boys got older and schedules got busier, it took a different form...a fundraising campaign without the walk weekend hoopla.  To this day, my boys will look back on Heart Walk weekend with great nostalgia because it represented the best of all of us...a love of family, friends and community who came together to raise awareness and dollars to find a cure for heart disease.  While the shape has changed, our commitment has not.  We have raised over $850,000 in the last 20 years and we are not stopping anytime soon!

Jake is the reason we started on this journey.  Jake is now 24 years old, a true miracle given the dire news his doctors gave us 23+ years ago.  Not a day goes by that we don't remember being in hospice waiting for what we thought was the end.  We acknowledge that blessing for we know too well how lucky we are.  So...in honor of Jake and all those out there that suffer from heart disease, we will contine to raise money!  

If you would like to walk, the 5K is September 26th at Atlantic Station.  The Walk begins at 7:45am.
