I don't have any risk factors for stroke, cardiovascular disease, or a heart attack. That won't happen to me.
Those were my thoughts too, when I had a stroke almost 3 1/2 years ago in my 40s, that left me unable to talk above a whisper or care for myself. None of us want to believe that something so life changing could ever impact our lives the way my stroke did mine, but it can and it does!
Currently 48% of all Americans have some form of cardiovascular disease and this is projected to rise to 61% by the year 2050! That's why cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in the US. (1 in 3 deaths).
I want to do everything in my power to save people from experiencing what I have after having my stroke. Things that still impact my life to this day. And I am blessed to call myself a survivor! Many are not.
Please join me on Saturday, October 3, at 8am at Chatt State for the Tennessee Valley Heart Walk.
All donations will benefit the American Heart Association.
Donations can be made in memory of or to honor those who have been impacted by Cardiovascular Disease which includes:
Stroke, heart attack, coronary artery disease, cerebral vascular disease, peripheral artery disease, heart failure, heart arrhythmias, heart valve disease, congenital heart disease, aortic disease, and others.
