Heart health became personal for me during pharmacy school when I started experiencing episodes of very intense, rapid heartbeats that would leave me exhausted. One day, the episode wouldn't stop, and I ended up in the ER. At just 23 years old, I learned that I was experiencing Supraventricular Tachycardia - and suddenly had my very own cardiologist.
Thankfully, my episodes are not extremely frequent, but I've continued to experience them over the years, including during all three of my pregnancies and occasionally a few times each year since pharmacy school. While my experience may look different from someone else's heart journey, it gave me a firsthand understanding of how scary and unpredictable heart conditions can feel.
That's one of the reasons supporting the Heart Walk means so much to me. Events like this help raise awareness, fund research, and support people and families impacted by heart disease and heart conditions of all kinds.
I'd love for you to join our team, support the cause, or help spread awareness. Every walker, donation, and conversation makes a difference. â¤ï¸
