The (Not So) "Little Lobbyist" is making her comeback...
Hi everyone! I am so excited to be walking in this year's Heart Walk. If you knew me growing up, you'd know I was born with a congenital heart defect (CHD) and was a proud lobbyist and ambassador for The American Heart Association and for children living with CHD's. To this day, one of my proudest accomplishments in life is working alongside them and helping to mandate pulse oximetry screenings for newborns in the state of Florida-- a non-invasive screening that detects over 80% of critical CHD's before the baby leaves the hospital.
This year, I am walking in honor of SO many amazing people. My beautiful angels up above-- my Dad, my grandparents, my darling friend and CHD warrior, Meagan, as well as my fellow Heart Heroes and Camp Boggy Creek heart week campers. Amongst them, my adult CHD survivor friends-- my best friend, Alejandra, my dear friend, Rosina, and my buddy, Melvin, whom is an adult CHD survivor currently awaiting a heart transplant.
My goal is to raise $518. $500 + chai-- which symbolizes "life" in Judaism, and has a numerical value of 18.
I am a self-certified walkaholic and LOVE every opportunity to get some movement in for a good cause! I hope you will consider joining me to help raise money for CHD research.
