This wonderful little boy pictured below, Carter Miller, is my five year old grandson. He was born in 2021 with HLHS (Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome) which has resulted in him having three open heart surgeries at Boston Children's Hospital to make modifications to his little and growing heart. The work of the American Heart Associations and American Stroke Association became very personal for me and only grows as Carter's life journey continues. Without the procedures developed and continuing to evolve through the research of AHA and the innovative pediatric cardiologist who care for these children we would not get to enjoy all the great things Carter has brought to this world. Despite all the challenges he has faces and what he has each day he choose joy and happiness every day, and brings this to his family and kindergarten classmates.
