If you knew my mom, Maria, you knew she had the biggest heart. She loved deeply, gave generously, and had a remarkable way of making everyone feel seen, welcomed, and cared for. She truly was the heartbeat of our family.

It seems almost poetic that she passed away on Valentine's Day-a day dedicated to celebrating love. Looking back, it's hard not to believe there was something fitting about it, because love was simply who she was.

This team was created to honor her legacy and the countless lives she touched. While we miss her every day, this walk is about more than remembering her. It's about creating hope for other families through research, education, advocacy, and lifesaving care provided by the American Heart Association.

Every step we take honors Maria. Every donation helps another family. And every act of love and kindness keeps her heart beating in the lives of others.
