I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy in the summer of 2023 but something was just off. I was really short of breath, had a cough and couldn't lay down flat. I just put it down to my organs going back in place after being cramped. When the coughing got worse I reached out to my doctor. She ran a few tests and sent me to an ASAP cardiology appt. I had an Echo and my heart was functioning at less than 20%. I was diagnosed with PPCM peripartum cardiomyopathy.

Now 3 years later I have a healthy little boy and my heart function has recovered. Many with this same condition don't get the same opportunity so I am always happy to pay it forward when I can.
