For more than a decade, I’ve been dedicated to supporting the American Heart Association through volunteering, coaching, and participating in the Greater Nashville Heart Walk each year. While I’ve always had a desire to see heart disease and stroke rates fall in my community, my connection this cause became deeply personal in 2019. That year, I lost my brother to a heart attack caused by coronary artery disease. He was only 36 years old.
As a marketing manager in the construction industry, I also see how important it is to prioritize health and safety every day. Construction workers in the U.S. face a higher risk of developing cardiovascular disease, with long hours, high stress, and a lack of self-care contributing to this risk. One in 25 construction workers — about 211,000 people — have already been diagnosed with cardiovascular disease.
By supporting this campaign, you’re helping the American Heart Association create safer, healthier workplaces. Your donation will fund research, education, and programs that protect the hearts of those who build our communities.
Help me continue to legacy and impact of the AHA. Sign up to walk on September 27, 2028 or feel free to make a donation large or small!
