In January 2026, my healthy 43-year old wife, Sarah, suffered a major stroke. Thanks to our teenage son's quick recognition of the signs of stroke and the response from first responders, Sarah has the best opportunity possible for recovery. The American Stroke Association has been an outstanding resource for me, as a new caretaker of a stroke survivor, providing valuable education and materials for understanding stroke and aphasia.
This year, Sarah and I walk for all of the young survivors of stroke. Join us in raising funds that can support research into the causes of stroke for healthy, young adults and for education for survivors and caregivers dealing with aphasia.
