Miles for Mallory 𒜠Our Why
In January 2021, our lives changed forever when we unexpectedly lost our beautiful daughter, Mallory, to an aortic dissection. She was only 18 years old.
There are no words to adequately describe the heartbreak of losing your child. A piece of our hearts went with her that day, and we have carried her absence with us every day since.
But we refuse to let Mallory's story end with her loss.
This year marks the 5th year that Miles for Mallory will participate in the Polk County American Heart Association Heart Walk. We walk because Mallory's life mattered. We walk to keep her memory alive. We walk to raise awareness and funds for heart health and research. And most importantly, we walk with the hope that by sharing Mallory's story, even one person might recognize a warning sign, seek help, and be saved.
If telling her story can help another family avoid the unimaginable pain of losing their child, then Mallory's short life will have made a difference far beyond the 18 years she was given.
We walk for Mallory.
We walk for the families who have lost someone they love.
We walk for those who may not yet know they are at risk.
And we walk in the hope that no parent will ever have to walk the path we have walked.
𒜠Please join Miles for Mallory on November 7th as we honor Mallory's life and help us turn our heartbreak into hope.
If you can't walk with us, please consider making a donation in Mallory's memory. Every step, every dollar, and every shared story helps us continue her legacy.
For our girl. For awareness. For prevention. For the hope of saving a life.
𒜠Miles for Mallory — forever 18.
