My Why: Walking for My Mom, Walking for Change!
Join me in supporting the American Heart Association!
For 21 years, I’ve proudly served as a team captain for BayCare’s Tampa Bay Heart Walk team. What started as a way to give back has become deeply personal.
In 2010, I lost my mom, Penni, to a sudden heart attack. Not a day goes by that I don’t wish she were still here. Walking in her memory is one way I honor the incredible woman she was and keep her spirit close.
Heart disease and stroke have touched my family in more ways than one, a reminder that these diseases don’t just impact statistics—they impact people we love.
That’s why I continue to support the American Heart Association and the Tampa Bay Heart Walk. Every dollar raised helps fund research, education, advocacy, and programs that save lives and improve heart health in our communities.
This year is especially exciting because BayCare’s CEO is serving as the Executive Sponsor for the entire event. Our organization is committed to making a meaningful impact, and I’m hopeful we’ll have our biggest year yet.
If you’re able, please consider making a donation or joining us on walk day. Together, we can honor those we’ve lost, celebrate survivors, and help create a future with more birthdays, more anniversaries, and more precious moments with the people we love.
Thank you for your support.
