My team's why,

Yvette's (team captain) heart spoke:

Yvette used to think heart disease was something that happened to other women, older women, women with classic symptoms. Not me! 

But then everything changed in an instant!

What I brushed off as stress became a fight for my life, emergency surgery, three stents, and a truth I can't ignore anymore: heart disease is the number one cause of death in women.

I know that pain too well... I lost my mother (Priscila) to a heart attack.

I never imagined I'd come so close to the same fate but I'm still here. And that means something.

It woke me up! It reminded me that my life, my voice, and my heart matter.

I'm choosing to live boldly, speak loudly, and honor my mother by protecting the heart she gave me.

Hopefully sharing our story helps even one woman take her symptoms seriously, then this second chance has purpose.
