I walk because I know that with every step, I am saving lives.
We're all tied to heart disease and stroke in some way. For me it was a life changing event for my brother. On November 13th he got up and went to work. Nothing different. Nothing to indicate that his life was about to change. During the day he began to experience a headache. He took something for it and completed his day. When he got home he still wasn't feeling well and his head still hurt. He ate and took something more to help relieve the headache and sat down to rest. He fell asleep on the couch and when he woke up a couple of hours later his vision was blurry, his speech slurred and he had left sided weakness. My sister-in-law rushed him to the hospital where he was immediately diagnosed with a stroke. He spent several days in the hospital and is still going through rehab. Thankfully he survived and is getting better. (Yes, that is his tattoo celebrating he is a survivor.) Some are not so lucky. We have to change that. Will you help me?
