The American Heart Association’s First Coast Heart Walk continues as a virtual experience

With the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic keeping more Americans at home, the American Heart Association is embracing a new approach and moving it’s iconic First Coast Heart Walk online. The First Coast Heart Walk will shift from downtown Jacksonville to homes across the First Coast to raise lifesaving funds and encourage physical activity while continuing to practice social distancing.

Local businesses and American Heart Association volunteers, as well as heart disease and stroke survivors. This year’s First Coast Heart Walk is sponsored by Stein Mart, Florida Blue, Mayo Clinic, the Jacksonville Jaguars and many more.

Make sure everyone on your team is registered so they do not miss out on the details and download the Heart Walk mobile app to launch your personal fundraising page. Encourage friends and family to join in via e-mail and/or social media.

The First Coast Virtual Heart Walk will begin at 9 am Saturday September 12th. Heart Walk participants will not meet in person but are invited to get moving at home or around the neighborhood while practicing social distancing.

Everyone is encouraged to wear their Heart Walk shirt and post pictures and videos to document their activity using #JaxHeartWalk.
