In a heartbeat, you could be the difference.
Four years ago, I was sitting at my desk here at M. G. Newell doing something I’ve done thousands of times—typing an email. Without any warning, everything changed. I experienced a TIA (often called a mini-stroke). Like many people, I never imagined something like that could happen to me, especially while sitting at work.
After several doctor’s appointments, tests, and visits with specialists, the cause was finally discovered: I had a hole in my heart (a patent foramen ovale, or PFO). I underwent surgery to have it closed, and thankfully, I’m doing well today.
That experience completely changed my perspective. Heart disease and stroke don’t always happen to “someone else.” They can affect people we work beside every day—sometimes without anyone even knowing their story.
That’s why I’m participating in this year’s Heart Walk, and I’d love for you to join me. Whether you walk, donate or both because you’ve had your own health scare, because someone you love has, or simply because you want to support a cause that impacts so many lives, your participation matters. Every person who joins helps raise awareness, supports lifesaving research, and reminds others that heart health is something we should all take seriously.
Extraordinary starts with YOU. Help me reach my goal today!
