I am currently serving as a member of the Heart Walk Executive Leadership Team. I have personally set a goal of $5,000 as a part of the Executives with Heart Challenge for the 2024 Metro Jackson Heart Walk.
Jack is my WHY! We discovered early during my pregnancy that Jack had a congenital heart defect, but we never knew how much this discovery would leave our lives (and our hearts) forever changed. On October 23, 2018, Jack had open heart surgery at Blair E. Batson Hospital for a PDA ligation and to close a VSD and ASD. Almost a week later, he was released from the hospital to continue recovery. Jack still has yearly visits to his cardiologist to continue monitoring these repairs and a few other minor issues, but he has been such a trooper and is now a happy and energetic SIX year old who lets nothing slow him down.
Throughout our journey, we have learned so many things we never knew about heart related issues, we have met so many incredible doctors, nurses, and staff, and we have been able to share our story with so many people we may never have had a connection with outside and inside the CHD community. We look forward to doing what we can to help raise awareness and funding for the American Heart Association as it means so much to our family.
Have a heart and help me reach my goal today!
