As a member of the Board I am proud to serve the mission of the the American Heart Association. The American Heart Association is addressing food insecurity, access to healthy foods and high blood pressure in Palm Beach County. One local program the AHA is currently working towards is in partnership with the Urban League of Palm Beach County (ULPBC). In an effort to meet people where they are the AHA is working to provide health information and blood pressure monitoring to families looking for employment, housing assistance and food. The AHA helped the organization create a health-inclusive intake form for all of their programs, paired them up with volunteer nurses to implement a weekly clinic, and linked them to one of our partner clinics for further care when their clients need it.
