Did you know that most individuals with Down Syndrome are born with some sort of heart issue? Many result in heart surgery as a baby. For us, Tyler was born with a whole in his heart. We were advised that he did not require surgery but we monitored his heart for the first 6 months of his life. It was so scary on top of his diagnosis, but he was one of the lucky ones and the hole closed on its own. That knowledge and trust in our doctors would not have been possible without research from the American Heart Association.
I am walking to help raise money for this amazing organization. I have been personally impacted by the research and know that their support has impacted so many families.
Your donation will fund groundbreaking research that literally keeps hearts beating and helps people have longer, healthier lives.
Have a heart and help me reach my goal today!
