Life is Why! Join me in supporting the American Heart Association!
5 years ago my brother in law, Gary Anderson suffered a severe stroke while making a presentation for a project he had been working on for a year. The stroke tragically took his life. Whether Gary’s stroke could have been prevented is unknown but certainly the mission of the American Heart Association to prevent and reduce cardiovascular disease will benefit many like Gary and help them lead longer and healthier lives.
Gary left two sons, Matt and Jon, and my sister Jerri behind. Every time I think of them I get a renewed drive to help raise awareness and funds for the American Heart Association to help them fund research to prevent and reduce cardiovascular diseases. This is why I participate in The Executive Challenge, which engages leaders in our community to step up and help the Tampa American Heart Association reach their goal of 5.1 million. I have personally pledged $5,000. Tampa Bay Trane as a whole has a goal of $25,000.
Too many of us have lost a loved one to these diseases. Heart disease is the Nation’s #1 killer of both men and women. For many, it’s a silent killer. For nearly a century, cardiovascular diseases have been responsible for more deaths in the United States than any other cause, claiming a life every 37 seconds.
Thank you in advance for your support!
