My parents are my reason Why!
Many things have changed in the last 12 months. By far the hardest change was losing my Dad to heart failure brought on by the COVID-19 virus. While Mom also tested positive, blessedly she remained asymptomatic, even with her heart being weakened due to her history of heart disease. Because of these changes, this year I am walking in my Dad's memory!
I know I'm not the only person affected by this deadly virus, but thanks to the life saving research around cardio vascular disease and stroke, I was able to have both of my wonderful parents in my life until they were in their 90's. All because of Dad's heart value replacement and Mom's bypass surgery. Without events like the Triangle Heart Walk, the American Heart Association wouldn't have the funds available to contribute to the research and development of these lifesaving surgeries.
