Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the U.S., but did you know that most cases can be prevented with healthy lifestyle choices? This year, Ultimate Medical Academy is putting its expertise as a healthcare education institution toward helping people understand how heart disease impacts us, our loved ones, and the communities we serve.

UMA is partnering with the American Heart Association through our year-long “Start With Your Heart” initiative, a multifaceted effort that kicked off with our third annual Steps Challenge and our support of Go Red for Women in February, continued through the summer with educational efforts to help people make heart-healthy choices, and carries on into the fall with our adoption of a local health clinic. Our 2023 efforts will culminate with our participation in the AHA Tampa Heart Walk on Saturday, Nov. 4. UMA will join thousands of other teams, organizations and individuals to take steps toward a healthier tomorrow.

In addition to educating people about the dangers of heart disease, we are also raising funds to help the AHA continue their lifesaving efforts and informational initiatives.

Our team member efforts are being led by UMA Executive Vice President of Workforce Transformation April Neumann. Our team is working to raise at least $25,000 for this cause, and UMA has committed to matching the first $25,000 raised to provide a total of at least $50,000 to the AHA. All funds raised will go directly to the AHA to help them continue to fight the scourge of heart disease.
