"I walk because every step helps make a difference. 

When I was 25, my heart began beating faster than normal—sometimes reaching up to 200 beats per minute without warning. After many trips to the emergency room and appointments with different doctors, I was referred to UAB Hospital, where I underwent a heart catheterization. I was diagnosed with AV Nodal Reentrant Tachycardia, a condition that couldn’t be treated with ablation. 

Fortunately, a team of cardiac specialists tested medications during the catheterization and developed a non-invasive treatment plan tailored to my condition. My heart rhythm has been well-managed for over 30 years with their care.
