Hank was born in April of 2022 with d-TGA, or Transposition of the Great Arteries, meaning his pulmonary artery and aorta were transposed. Less than a week later, he underwent his first open heart surgery to switch them to their correct positions.

After a few weeks in the CVICU, he went home, but unfortunately ended up back in the hospital just a couple of weeks later due to severe pulmonary hypertension and suspected right-heart failure. After over a month in the CVICU-IMCU, he went home stable, but on oxygen.

In just a few short years (he's almost 3), Hank has undergone 2 heart surgeries (one open, one thoracotomy), 7 cardiac catheterizations, 1 tonsillectomy-adenoidectomy, and countless labs, echos, and other imaging studies. Today, he still struggles with severe pulmonary hypertension.

Most importantly though, he's the brave little guy to two very proud parents and the sweetest big brother to one very patient little sister.
