It's not fun when you go to visit your family all the way in Sydney, Australia, and your dad has a stroke in the second last Saturday you are there.
The stroke was caused by a blocked artery; that blocked artery among others caused him to have 2 major heart attacks in the past.
Although I'm glad I was there to see him in the hospital every day, in the last week, it was so painful flying back to Georgia. I felt blue for weeks and weeks... my husband and a few good friends I made at work helped me get out of my funk... and ultimately, him making the slow recovery back to a somewhat normal life.
I am so incredibly grateful that he made it; because a few months later, my friend's seemingly healthy dad - an MD - dropped dead from a stroke.
So, life is Why! Join me in supporting the American Heart Association!
Thanks to life-saving surgery, my Dad could make my wedding and so many other precious moments in our family's lives. And my Dad has been living a pleasant life again.
So, I’m not just walking. I’m Heartwalking. My participation in Heart Walk promotes fun ways to be physically active and make healthier choices every day. Imagine the impact if we reduce death and disability from cardiovascular diseases and stroke by 20 percent by 2020. Please help me reach this lifesaving goal by donating today. Together, we can make healthier, longer lives possible for everyone.
Thank you in advance for your support!
