2024 Central Kentucky Heart Walk
Myocardial Movers
Exciting news! I'm thrilled to announce the launch of the 2024 American Heart Walk Team – introducing the Myocardial Movers! The #HeartWalk is scheduled on Saturday May 11th!
As the American Heart Association celebrates their 100th birthday, I'm doubly delighted to be part of CHI Saint Joseph Health, a local sponsor for the Go Red for Women Program here in Kentucky!
Over the last 55 years, the AHA has slashed cardiovascular disease deaths by 71% and stroke fatalities by 37% in the last 24.
They've invested over $5 billion in lifesaving research, giving rise to innovations like artificial valves and heart transplant programs. In Kentucky alone, nearly $5 million has fueled research in the past 5 years.
Had an incredible brunch with the local AHA team recently, and guess what? Met the amazing Jackie Dawson and her team! Their passion for the cause is contagious – talk about an energizing experience. Nothing beats connecting with folks who share your community spirit and goals. What struck me most was their mission to bring blood pressure control and hypertension initiatives and AED education equipment to our rural areas here in Kentucky. AHA's got the dream team making a real impact!
Now, more than ever, I'm proud to walk, knowing the funds we raise will contribute to longer, healthier lives!
Join in February for American #HeartMonth – the AHA urges every family to become a Nation of Lifesavers by learning two simple steps: 1 - Call 911, 2 - Push Hard & Fast CPR. Visit heart.org/cpr to learn more.
Don't forget Wear Red Day on February 2, 2024, to show support for Women's Heart Health. #GoRedKY! Merch is available at shop heart.org.
Mark your calendars for other AHA events this year, including STEM goes Red on February 23 & March 26, Central Kentucky Heart Ball on March 1, and Go Red for Women on November 1.
A huge thanks to everyone walking, supporting, and donating. The AHA is an incredible organization, and I'm proud to be a small part of this vital cause!
