Hi friends! For those of you who don’t know- this year in May when I was 30 weeks pregnant with our sweet Micah, I began to feel sick with a terrible cough, shortness of breath and just really struggling. When we got to the emergency room (assuming it was Covid)- they began taking all of the tests and actually found that I had a failing mitral valve in my heart. Immediately we planned an emergency c section and then open heart surgery to replace my valve with a mechanical mitral valve. Because of the risk of two surgeries- we waited til Micah was 8 weeks old and on July 21st I was rolled into the OR again and they successfully took out my failing valve and inserted my new mechanical valve. I’m a heart survivor and there are many others who need the help from the American Heart Association- I’ll be doing the walk in Wichita in June 2023 and would love to raise as much for this organization as I can. If you’d like to join my team and walk with me in June, please let me know and I can send you that link as well. Thank you so much to anyone who takes the time to read this
