Life is Why! Join me in supporting the American Heart Association!
The fight against heart disease and stroke is important to me, which is why I walk in the American Heart Association's Heart Walk. Will you support my efforts to fight the nation's No. 1 and No. 5 killers - heart disease and stroke?
My Dad survived his first heart attack & a triple bypass over 30 years ago and a second heart attack at 99. That enabled him to hold his twin great-grandsons and his other 7 great-grandkids. At 99 he was still going strong, though his short-term memory suffered. My Mom wasn't so lucky. Her heart disease was misdiagnosed for over 2 years with the Dr. telling her that she had arthritis in her ribs and administering cortisone shots for her pain instead of sending her to a heart specialist. When they finally attempted a heart catheter in 2003, she died on the operating table leaving my father without her for more than 18 years. In 2018 at 69, my brother survived heart surgery to repair an aortic aneurism. At 50, my sister had a stroke! With a lot of hard work, she recovered. And now heart issues have hit a good friend of mine. It's for my FAMILY and friends that I walk, but also for millions who have been affected and for their loved ones.
I Heartwalk for people like you and me who want to help make our community a healthier, more active place. My participation in the Heart Walk promotes fun ways to be physically active and make healthier choices every day. Imagine the impact if we reduce death and disability from cardiovascular diseases and stroke by 20 percent by 2024. Please help me reach this lifesaving goal by donating today. Together, we can make healthier, longer lives possible for everyone. Why? … Life, a better life for all is why!
Thank you in advance for your support!
