There are so many reasons to walk and to support the American Heart Association! My most important reasons are people who mean a lot to me. I lost my Aunt Linda 13 years ago due to heart disease related to Diabetes. My cousin, who is more like my sister, has to go through life without her mom. My grandpa (Gramp) was with me until he was 92 (I lost him in 2019), because he was able to receive quadruple bi-pass surgery to keep his heart healthy! My Walgreen's family lost a dear friend, Brian Boyce, in the summer of 2021 from a heart attack. None of us saw it coming, and our hearts were broken. My brother-in-law, Jon, had a heart attack in 2021 at the age of only 42. He had quintuple bypass surgery and thankfully is doing really well today! In December 2022 my good friend lost his dad, Borys, to a heart attack. And just this month in June 2023, my friend lost her cousin, Grace, who was only 45 years old. I want to make a difference for these families.
