This walk hits close to home. My father Paul Munoz is an 18-year stroke survivor. Growing up I just knew my father as a hard worker who lived to be a work. For 20+ years, he was a truck driver for Jewel Osco and probably would have lived at work if they let him. Unfortunately, he suffered a stroke and was not able to continue working because had become paralyzed on his right side. With great physical therapy, he learned to walk and do daily basic tasks for himself.
I still look at my father as that same man he was before, still a hard worker. To this day he still tries to go out and mow the lawn, I guess old habits die hard.
