My oldest son, Micky, is a high school football player. Like Damar Hamlin, he play’s strong safety. Strong safeties hit hard! As a parent it can be terrifying. Damar Hamlin survived and it is thanks to the life saving CPR and AED training and equipment. The American Heart Association is at the forefront of the fight against heart disease, conducting critical research, providing education, and advocating for policies that promote heart health.
This event brought a spotlight to how important CPR and AEDs are in saving lives. I'm walking so more football programs can benefit from the live-saving work that the American Heart Association does.
